Systems Engineer - Senior
Genesis10 is currently seeking a Systems Engineer - Senior for a contract working onsite through December 2024 with an insurance company in Franklin, WI.
Responsibilities...
Ā Provide guidance to build recovery procedures and execute various DR tests to recover technology services
Ā Assess, identify, and aid in the remediation of critical risks to application, infrastructure, and enterprise recoverability
Ā Create DR patterns for infrastructure services
Ā Define realistic DR scenarios and facilitate the build of recovery procedures
Ā Establish and enforce adherence to DR standards and best practices
Ā Create and maintain application and technology recovery sequence
Ā Technology resiliency testing (High Availability / Disaster Recovery/ Chaos testing)
Ā Functional DR exercises to validate Business recovery capabilities
Ā Conduct Distributed, Cloud, and Mainframe platform DR tests
Ā Disaster Recovery gap identification and management of their remediation and closure
Qualifications:
Ā Bachelors in Computer Science / Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience
Ā 4-5 years of professional experience required
Ā Familiarity with enterprise technologies, including compute, storage, database, middleware, virtualization, AWS services, firewalls, VPN, and load balancers
Ā Knowledge of methods used in performing risk analysis
Ā Optimally interact with business and IT units to provide end-to-end disaster recovery solutions
Ā Knowledge of Disaster and Cyber Threat Recovery
Ā Experience participating in orchestrated enterprise planning methodologies (e.g., Agile)
Ā Experience with Enterprise Technology planning and delivery software (e.g., JiraAlign, Jira)
Ā Ability to self-teach, independently drive for answers
Ā Effective at balancing multiple projects and priorities concurrently
Ā Strong interpersonal and communication skills to work with all levels within the business and IT organizations
Must Have:
Ā Ability to review application and infrastructure architecture diagrams;
Ā Working knowledge of infrastructure services like network, server storage and middleware technologies;
Nice To Have:
Ā Ability to work with general direction to scope, plan and manage cross-department or multi-department projects to drive completion of targets/deliverables
Ā Demonstrated ability to lead and manage large and highly complex technology assignments with a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritize work and handle multiple tasks simultaneously, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
