As a Systems Development Engineering Expert for Google Support Systems in the Public Sector, you'll play a key role in developing and maintaining the internal systems and customer portals that enable our customers to succeed. About the Role We're seeking a highly skilled Systems Development Engineer to join our Google Support Systems (GSS) team. As a GSS SDE, you'll be responsible for creatively developing, configuring, and maintaining the systems and portals that support our public sector customers. Your work will have a direct impact on the success of our customers, ensuring they're able to accomplish their mission-critical work. Key Responsibilities Drive Systems Development: Develop and implement Google Public Sector's core customer support systems, owning all end-to-end technology needs. Scale Systems Sustainably: Scale systems through mechanisms like automation, and evolve systems by pushing for changes that improve reliability and customer experience. Troubleshooting and Resolution: Perform complex day-to-day troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure issues. Collaboration with Engineering Teams: Liaise with Google engineering teams, collaborating to ensure key customer requirements are implemented. Essential Qualifications To succeed in this role, you'll need: A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or IT-related field, or equivalent practical experience. 8 years of experience with systems automation, and with systems design and implementation. 8 years of experience with systems administration, Linux, networking, identity management, technical infrastructure (e.g., deployment, maintenance, troubleshooting), and reliability of technical infrastructure. Experience in automation and coding/programming in Python, Bash Scripting, Terraform, etc. Experience with DoD security compliance regimes including DoD CC SRG, NIST 800-53, and CNSSI 1253. Experience with OpenSCAP and associated formats, including XCCDF and OVAL. Must be a US Citizen to access Controlled Unclassified Information. Preferred Qualifications While not required, the following qualifications will give you a competitive edge: Experience in Google Cloud organization management. Familiarity with basic web development and web app security. Excellent partner management, follow-through, resourcefulness, attention to detail, and verbal and written communication skills. Skills and Competencies To excel in this role, you'll need to possess: Strong technical skills in systems development, automation, and infrastructure management. Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Compensation, Perks, and Benefits We offer a competitive compensation package that includes: A base salary range of $160,000-$246,000. Bonus and equity opportunities.
