Position Summary The Enrollment Specialist owns coverage integrity by ensuring accurate and timely submission of all member enrollments to insurance carriers. This role manages the full enrollment lifecycle from application submission through carrier confirmation and ongoing validation. Primary Responsibilities Enrollment Processing β€’ Submit carrier applications for all enrollment types: β€’ New hire enrollments β€’ Open enrollment elections β€’ Qualifying Life Events (QLEs) β€’ Plan changes and updates β€’ Terminations and COBRA transitions β€’ Collect and submit supplemental documentation required by carriers β€’ Ensure enrollment accuracy before submission β€’ Meet carrier-specific submission requirements and deadlines β€’ Track enrollment status through carrier systems Carrier Relationship Management β€’ Maintain operational relationships with insurance carriers β€’ Navigate carrier portals and submission systems β€’ Coordinate with carrier representatives on enrollment issues Enrollment Validation (Audit) β€’ Perform post-enrollment carrier validation and confirmation β€’ Verify coverage accuracy across the enrollment lifecycle: β€’ Open Enrollment ? Enrollment submission ? Audit ? Payment β€’ Validate plan accuracy and member information β€’ Identify and resolve carrier discrepancies β€’ Conduct compliance auditing of enrollment processes β€’ Perform process quality assurance reviews Issue Resolution β€’ Follow up on pending carrier applications β€’ Resolve enrollment discrepancies with carriers β€’ Coordinate on enrollment escalations β€’ Document and track enrollment issues β€’ Prevent retroactive corrections through proactive validation Key Performance Indicators β€’ Enrollment Accuracy: greater than 99.5% β€’ Processing Time: less than 5 business days for standard enrollments β€’ Carrier Confirmation: greater than 98% confirmation withing 10 days β€’ QLE Processing Time: less than 15 business days β€’ Open Enrollment Completion: 100% by December 31 What This Role Owns β€’ Enrollment submission to carriers β€’ Carrier confirmation tracking β€’ Enrollment validation and audit β€’ Ensure Platform reflects changes Functional Purpose β€’ Prevent plan integrity failures before they impact members β€’ Detect enrollment discrepancies early β€’ Reduce need for retroactive corrections β€’ Ensure seamless coverage transitions Requirements Required Qualifications Education & Experience β€’ High school diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred β€’ 1-3 years of experience in benefits enrollment, insurance administration, or related field β€’ Health insurance industry experience β€’ Understanding of carrier enrollment processes and systems Skills & Competencies β€’ Attention to Detail: Critical for enrollment accuracy β€’ Organization: Can manage multiple enrollments across carriers and deadlines β€’ Process Adherence: Follows carrier-specific requirements precisely β€’ Problem Solving: Can troubleshoot enrollment issues with carriers β€’ Communication: Clear written and verbal communication with carriers and internal teams β€’ Time Management: Meets strict enrollment deadlines Technical Skills β€’ Proficiency with multiple carrier enrollment portals β€’ Strong data entry and verification skills β€’ Excel skills for tracking and reporting β€’ Understanding of health insurance plan types and structures β€’ Familiarity with enrollment lifecycle stages Success Profile You Will Thrive If You: β€’ Take pride in accurate, error-free enrollment processing β€’ Enjoy working with detailed data and carrier systems β€’ Are comfortable with process-driven, deadline-focused work β€’ Can manage multiple carrier relationships and requirements β€’ Appreciate the importance of coverage integrity for members β€’ Are proactive about catching errors before they impact coverage Primary Failure Risks to Avoid: β€’ Enrollment Failures: Missing enrollments that don't get submitted or confirmed β€’ Carrier Confirmation Delays: Not following up on pending applications β€’ Validation Gaps: Assuming enrollments are correct without verification Compensation This is a 100% remote position (aligned with US Pacific Time) with an hourly rate of $25.00+experience.
