The Kansas Office of Judicial Administration is seeking a Supreme Court Research Attorney I for the Kansas Supreme Court. This role involves performing sensitive legal research and preparing legal memoranda for justices on various legal matters under general supervision. Responsibilities Performs highly sensitive legal research and other professional legal services for the Kansas Supreme Court Work includes the preparation of legal memoranda for justices of the Supreme Court on matters before them Work is performed under general supervision of a justice or supervising attorney and is reviewed through conferences and written reports Work involves highly confidential pending legal matters Incumbent serves at the pleasure of the appointing justice Reviews, studies, researches and annotates laws, court decisions, documents, opinions, briefs, and related legal authorities to process petitions for review to the Supreme Court, appeals, original actions, and other litigated matters Performs other duties as assigned Skills Graduation from an accredited law school Admission to the Kansas Bar or a temporary permit to practice law in Kansas Benefits Kansas Judicial Branch Benefits State Employment Center - Benefits (ks.gov) Company Overview Kansas courts were created by the state Constitution to administer justice fairly and impartially.
