As a Supporting Library Specialist at Arapahoe Libraries, you'll float between branches, the bookmobile, and our call center-stepping in wherever help is needed most.This is a dynamic role that requires flexibility, adaptability, and a strong passion for public service. No two days are the same-and that's exactly what makes this work so rewarding. This role is part-time, 30-hours per week.Schedule and AvailabilityBecause of the changing needs of this position, open availability is required:
Monday-Thursday: 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM
Friday-Saturday: 9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Sunday: 12:00 PM - 5:00 PMWhat You'll Do as a Supporting Library SpecialistPatron Assistance
Greet and assist patrons at various locations
Handle account inquiries and transactions
Answer reference and technology questions
Promote programs, resources, and events
Provide service via phone and online chat
De-escalate concerns and create a welcoming environment
Materials Handling
Shelve and organize library materials
Maintain displays and library spaces
Team Support and Learning
Stay informed on internal updates and services
Share feedback with supervisors and collaborate with coworkers
Adjust to changes and varied environments at each location
What You Will Bring to This RoleQualifications
At least one year of experience in customer service, libraries, or education
Intermediate technology skills and willingness to learn new tools
Reliable transportation and ability to travel with short notice
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Enthusiasm for serving people of all ages and backgrounds
A flexible mindset and comfort with frequent change
