This role is critical to the success of our field operations, leading crews and ensuring projects are executed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard.We’re looking for a leader who is hungry, humble, and smart—someone who takes ownership, builds strong teams, and ensures the job gets done no matter the challenge.Responsibilities:Lead and oversee all field operations on heavy civil and earthwork projectsEnsure health and safety is always the top priority on every job siteHold General Foremen and Foremen accountable for performance, productivity, and qualityStep in and take ownership to ensure project success when issues arise in the fieldPlan, schedule, and coordinate work, trades, and resources at least 6 weeks in advanceCoordinate effectively with General Contractors, clients, and project stakeholdersMonitor daily production, progress, and job performance to keep projects on trackCommunicate openly with leadership when challenges or delays occurRead and interpret project drawings and specifications to ensure proper executionUtilize GPS systems and technology for accurate grading and earthwork operationsFoster a strong team environment built on accountability, collaboration, and trustDevelop and mentor field personnel, building the next generation of leadersRequirements:Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Heavy Equipment OperatorMinimum 5 years’ experience as a ForemanMinimum 5 years’ experience as a SuperintendentProven experience managing large cut/fill and earthmoving projectsStrong knowledge of earthmoving practices and field executionHands-on experience operating heavy equipmentProven experience with GPS machine control systemsAbility to read and understand construction drawings and specificationsDemonstrated ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate complex projectsProven track record of building and leading high-performing teamsStrong communication skills with the ability to escalate issues appropriately Team-first mindset with the ability to collaborate and empower othersMust be accountable, self-driven, and willing to put in the effort required for successWilling and able to travel and work extended hours as neededAble to pass pre-employment drug screen, background check, and maintain a satisfactory driving recordBenefits:Paid Time Off (PTO) / Sick LeaveMedical, Dental, and Vision Insurance (paid coverage for the entire family)401(k) with company match5-Year Employment Appreciation BonusWork Schedule:Monday to Friday, with flexibility as required by project needsReady to Join Our Team?If you're ready to bring your leadership, grit, and field expertise to a company that values accountability, teamwork, and excellence, apply today and be part of a team that takes pride in every project we deliver!R-2 Contractors is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
