Summer Intern - Virtual /Mentorship Program
The Power 2 Inspire Foundation (P2I) is a nonprofit [501c3] organization founded in 2013 by Music Director/Producer Ray Chew and Music Industry Executive Vivian Scott Chew. Committed to helping diverse young aspiring performers and business leaders rise to their highest self, P2I is seeking applicants for its sixth Summer Power 2 Inspire Virtual Internship/Mentorship Program.
Although the overall mission of the Power 2 Inspire Foundation is inclusive to all, we are focusing this opportunity specifically to young Black and Brown mentees/interns with a hunger and excitement to learn and succeed.
Dates of Program: Monday, July 7th, 2025 - Friday, August 1st, 2025
The 4-week virtual program will be for selected candidates with mentors in three (3) specific areas of the music business:
1) Music Industry
2) Singer/Songwriter
3) Musician/Producer
Participants can expect to receive the following:
- Master classes featuring interactive presentations from professional musicians, producers, singers and songwriters, music business attorney's, digital strategists, brand marketers, financial advisor and music label executives from all parts of the world
- Virtual guest scholar lectures
- Conduct a case study presentation with peers focusing on a music related topic
Candidate Requirements:
- Students or workforce ready young adults between the ages of 18-24
- Must be able to commit to the required time of 3 days a week for a total of 2.5-3 hours per day (11:00amET - 12:15pmET then 12:30pmET - 1:45pmET)
- Must have access to a computer or tablet and internet. No phone usage will be accepted. Applicants must also have a Gmail email address.
- Applicants must be able to complete the full four week program. No exceptions.
Mandatory To Complete Application:
- (1-2) reference letters from a former/current professor, teacher, community leader, mentor or employer.
- Video submission (upload at end of application) - (1) 1 to 2 minute video showcasing your talent if you are applying in the singer/songwriter or musician/producer lanes. If applying for the music industry lane, please share your interest and passion for what you want to do in the industry.
