This is a remote position.Square One is a national democratic organization that seeks out the most promising Democratic women, people of color, and members of the LGBTQ+ community to run for Congress in long-overlooked red districts and states, and provides the high-impact, hands-on support they need to launch, run, and win their groundbreaking campaigns — against all the odds. Square One candidates and alumni include Lauren Underwood, Lucy McBath, Ruben Gallego and many more. Position SummaryIn a Square One Digital fellowship, you’ll learn all about how to operate within our current media ecosystem and inform the political conversation daily. You’ll interact with and have the chance to collaborate with different people on the team. A fellow will gain an understanding of how to communicate with and educate the public on issues in modern politics using design to help deliver our message. The fellowship will provide hands-on design work experience (and some politics experience).


The fellowship will run from June 1, 2026 to August 14, 2026 and will be conducted in a virtual format. Fellows must be located in the United States to apply for and perform work for this fellowship. The Square One Fellowship Program provides a weekly stipend of $250. Fellows must utilize their own laptop and cell phone.


Fellowship Responsibilities/Duties:

Create and design social graphics, posts, and more
Live clip events to amplify on social
Learn new tools and techniques to speed up your workflow
Create produced videos in large moments on social
Pull analytics and social metrics weekly



RequirementsSkills:

Proficient in Canva, G Suite, and have basic understanding of Adobe Suite
Ability to organize and manage a content calendar
Ability to work under tight deadlines and rapid response situations
Detailed-oriented, self-starter, and well-organized
Strong communication skills
Familiar with current trends on social
Eligibility Requirements:Applicants must be 18 years of age on or before the first day of the fellowship and meet at least one of the following criteria:

Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program at a college, community college, or university (two-to-four year institution). It is recommended that applicants complete at least one full term prior to submitting an application.
Graduated from an undergraduate or graduate program at a college, community college, or university (two-to-four year institution) no more than two years before the first day of the fellowship.
A veteran of the United States Armed Forces who possesses a high school diploma or its equivalent and has served on active duty, for any length of time, in the two years preceding the first day of the fellowship.
Applicants must meet all of the following criteria:

Commitment of 10-15 hours per week during the program
Physically present in the United States to participate in this fellowship program

The fellowship application deadline is April 20, 2026. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
