We're now seeking a talented and motivated Intern - Data Planning Analyst to join our National Data Planning Tactical team as part of our 10-week summer internship program. This is a unique opportunity to be part of a key transformation initiative aimed at revolutionizing predictive modeling and analytics for network capacity management. As a Data Planning Analyst Intern, you will be working on exciting projects that involve predictive modeling, data gathering, and analytics to forecast network capacity needs and enhance tooling and reporting capabilities. The Role: Data Planning Analyst Intern The National Data Planning Tactical (NDPT) team at Lumen is at the forefront of capital equipment planning and procurement for our national network infrastructure, focusing on routers, switches, and security equipment. As a Data Planning Analyst Intern on this team, you will play a crucial role in driving a transformation initiative that will significantly improve our predictive modeling and analytics capabilities for network capacity management. Key Responsibilities: Engage in predictive modeling and headroom management to forecast network capacity needs, ensuring that provisioning teams never run out of capacity. Work on data gathering and analytics for network management, with a focus on trend forecasting for routers and switches to predict capacity exhaustion. Support the transformation data modeling initiative within the department to enhance tooling, reporting, and predictive modeling capabilities. Collaborate with team members to analyze data, identify trends, and develop insights that inform network capacity planning decisions. Present findings and recommendations to various stakeholders, including senior leadership, in a clear and compelling manner. What We Look For in a Candidate To be considered for this internship, you must be committed to the entire 10-week program (May 30 - August 8, 2025) and meet the following eligibility criteria: Essential Qualifications: Enrolled at a 4-year accredited college or university, with a rising junior or senior level education status at the start of the internship. Graduating between August 2025 and May 2027. Pursuing a degree in a relevant field such as Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or Data Science. Ability to work 40 hours per week during the 10-week program. Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 Suite. Knowledge of Microsoft Power Automate and Power BI to build workflows and reports. US work authorization is required for this role. Preferred Qualifications: Ability to present complex data insights in plain, non-technical visual formats. Strong understanding of business requirements and the ability to communicate findings effectively. Enjoy collaborating with others and working well in a team environment. Comfortable interacting with different levels of leadership and presenting solutions. Not afraid to ask questions to find solutions and think outside the box to challenge the norm.
