Substation Estimator ā Transmission & Distribution
Remote | Full-Time
We are seeking a Substation Estimator with experience supporting transmission and distribution (T&D) projects. This role will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates and proposals for substation construction, upgrades, and related utility infrastructure.
Responsibilities
ā¢ Prepare detailed cost estimates for transmission and distribution substation projects
ā¢ Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents to develop labor, material, and equipment pricing
ā¢ Perform quantity takeoffs for electrical and civil scopes including foundations, grounding, structures, conduit, and equipment installation
ā¢ Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes
ā¢ Collaborate with engineering, project management, and field teams during bid development
ā¢ Support proposal preparation and bid reviews
Qualifications
ā¢ 3+ years of estimating experience in electrical construction, utilities, or energy infrastructure
ā¢ Experience with high-voltage substations, transmission, or distribution projects
ā¢ Ability to interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications
ā¢ Strong proficiency in Excel and estimating tools
ā¢ Experience working with utility contractors or EPC firms preferred
