We are currently seeking a highly motivated and experienced Student Success Specialist - Academic Coordinator to join our TRIO Student Support Services team. As a key member of our staff, you will play a pivotal role in supporting students overcoming obstacles to education, including limited income, first-generation college students, and those with disabilities. About TRIO Student Support Services TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) is a federally funded program that aims to increase the persistence, graduation, and transfer of SSS participants. Our program provides intentional and intrusive advising, academic support activities, and enrichment opportunities to empower students to achieve their academic goals. Job Summary We are looking for a skilled and compassionate Student Success Specialist - Academic Coordinator to provide academic advising, support, and coordination services to TRIO SSS participants. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in student advising, program coordination, and community engagement. This is a remote-based position with an immediate start date, offering a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package. Key Responsibilities Provide intentional and intrusive advising services to TRIO SSS participants, including academic, financial aid, financial literacy, transfer, career, and personal development advising. Develop and stay apprised of relevant policies, procedures, and best practices in student advising and support services. Coordinate academic support activities, such as tutoring, accelerated remediation programs, and academic enrichment activities. Develop and implement value-added student activities, including academic enrichment and cultural events. Collect, interpret, and utilize data to assess student needs, monitor student performance, and evaluate programming. Participate in outreach and intake processes for prospective TRIO SSS participants and develop referral pathways with internal and external partners. Supervise TRIO SSS Academic tutors and perform other duties and special projects as assigned by the Director of TRIO Student Support Services. Requirements Essential Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in education, psychology, social work, or a related field. Three years of post-secondary holistic academic advising and program coordination experience, with a preference for experience working with students from low-income, first-generation, and disability backgrounds. One year of professional experience working with TRIO Programs. One year of experience working with student information databases. Knowledge of student advising theory and best practices. Knowledge of project planning and coordination. Cross-cultural interpersonal skills. Data management skills. Effective communication skills. Ability to supervise work-study students and Peer Mentors. Group presentation skills. Ability to drive long distances within Colorado for coordination and implementation of program-based activities. Current Colorado Driver's License with a clean Department of Motor Vehicle record. Preferred Qualifications: Master's degree in education, psychology, social work, or a related field. Experience working with students overcoming obstacles to education, including limited income, first-generation college students, and disability. Bilingual communication skills.
