Student Ministry Leader
Overview:
This role involves:
Organizing and guiding mid-week ministry activities for 7th-12th graders through our Exit83 Youth Ministry.
Leading Bible lessons for 4th-6th
Developing and gaining Pastoral skills through hands-on training, guidance, and instruction through regular spiritual and theological engagement with LBF pastoral leadership.
Purpose:
The position will involve serving under experienced LBF pastoral leadership that will foster a Pastor in training focus. The candidate will work each week to grow the current Sunday morning ministry for 4th-6th graders as well as
mid-week responsibilities to our current Exit83 Youth Ministry. The main emphasis for this role is to present and show by example the gospel of Jesus Christ to young people, encouraging them in their spiritual growth, studying of scripture, prayer, service,
and fellowship.
Responsibilities:
In collaboration with the Exit83 Youth Pastor, and LIFEKids Pastor:
Exit83 Youth Ministry
Manage Youth Ministry operations: budget, calendar, volunteer recruiting, and communication.
Plan mid-week ministries, youth activities, small groups, and occasional teaching.
Handle online communications through social media, emails, and church database platforms.
Plan all youth camps or special events, sign-ups, advertising, parent communication meetings, and expenses.
Build relationships with students outside of normal activities by meeting and attending their school activities.
4th-6th LIFEKids Ministry
Lead and plan weekly Sunday morning ministries to 4th-6th grade students.
Build relationships with students, parents, and volunteers.
Actively participate in regular worship and functions of Life Bible Fellowship Church.
Meet weekly with the LIFEKids Pastor.
Organize monthly activities, mentoring, and fellowship time for students.
Pastor In Training
Meet weekly with Exit83 Pastor, attend Pastoral development meetings, and participate in assigned Pastoral duties.
Join in sermon prep and take on teaching opportunities where requested in Mens Ministry, Staff devotions, etc.
Align with one of the Pastors-On-Duty (POD) for observational training, pastoral phone calls, walk-ins, and visitations.
May involve but not limited to: hospital and home visitation, one-on-one counseling, pre-marriage counseling, officiating weddings/memorials, administering communion, and sermon preparation.
Participate in all-staff church events throughout the year.
Engage with a local organization once a month to represent Life Bible Fellowship Church (Ex: Local Christian School, Local Outreach Partner, etc.)
Position Reports To:
Exit83 Student Ministry Pastor and LIFEKids Pastor.
Required Skills:
Commitment to Jesus Christ and the church community.
Must be able to verbally articulate personal faith and a Biblical world-view.
Love working with the student grade levels noted.
Desire to engage, inspire, and counsel students.
Prepare and teach lessons to students.
Effective communicator with organizational skills.
Great computer and creative skills.
Ability to plan, manage time, and inspire others in their spiritual growth.
Be teachable, flexible, and have a positive attitude.
Work Schedule:
This full-time role involves 40-50 hours per week.
Exit83 Youth Ministry: 25 hours/week
4th-6th Grade: 11 hours/week
Pastoral Development: 4 hours per week
