Student Assistant - Library, Access ServicesPlease see Special Instructions for more details.Attach a copy of your Class Schedule in the Required Document field under "Other".For additional information email [email protected] InformationJob Title: Student Assistant - Library, Access ServicesPosition Type: StudentDivision: Academic AffairsDepartment: LibraryJob DescriptionUnder general supervision shelves, retrieves, and maintains order of library materials, and helps inventory library collections.Assists library patrons in a professional and service-oriented manner, including checking out and discharging library materials, answering general questions, providing limited computer and reference assistance.Assists in opening/closing the library following established procedures.Help maintain library overall appearance by straightening furniture, discarding trash, dusting collections, etc.Serve as backup to Circulation staff, as needed.Performs other duties as assigned.Required QualificationsMust be currently enrolled student and registered for classes.Must be available to work some early morning, late night, and/or weekend shifts.Must demonstrate understanding of decimal placement.Ability to accurately file in alpha/numeric order.Ability to perform work requiring accuracy and attention to detail.Ability to organize and complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner.Preferred QualificationsKnowledge of basic Microsoft software, including Excel and Word.Experience answering business phones.Public service experience.Physical DemandsThe nature of the work requires visual acuity, full range of motion including but not limited to standing, sitting, bending, twisting, pushing, pulling book carts up to 300 pounds, and lifting up to 30 pounds.Salary: $9.12 per hrEEO StatementAll qualified applicants will be considered for employment without regard to sex, race, color, national origin, religion, age, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.In compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Angelo State University is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to ensure equal access to employment opportunities for qualified individuals with disabilities.
