Job Summary
As a Diagnostic Medical Sonography Instructor, your primary responsibility will be to provide active and effective learning for students in all applicable educational settings. You will act as a professional and academic role model, committed to student satisfaction. This includes teaching in classrooms, labs, clinical and online settings, as well as outside the classroom during campus and student activities.
Key Responsibilities
Teach classes as assigned, preparing lesson plans and course material as required
Objectively assess students for academic performance and provide regular and constructive feedback
Maintain a classroom environment conducive to learning and set an example for professionalism and conduct
Ensure compliance with published attendance policies and maintain accurate student records
Participate in ongoing faculty and professional development activities, including Continuing Education Units (CEUs)
Requirements
Associate degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography (DMS) or a related field
Minimum credentials of Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with specialty certifications in either/both OB/Gyn & Abdominal and/or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
Four years of professional experience as a general sonographer, cardiac sonographer, pediatric cardiac sonographer, and/or vascular technologist
Teaching/Management experience preferred
Experience with educating students in a clinical setting preferred
