Strategic Account Manager - Geotech Construction (Pursuit Engineer)
GeoStabilization International is the market leader in geohazard mitigation, and they are seeking a Pursuit Engineer to support strategic pursuits while translating engineering judgment into revenue and client trust. This role involves leading the development of geohazard mitigation solutions and engaging in commercial strategy and client relationships.ResponsibilitiesLead development of innovative, constructible geohazard mitigation solutions under tight timelines and incomplete dataOwn engineering and estimating leadership during pursuits, including means & methods, constructability, and sequencingServe as Design Manager on moderately to highly complex pursuits, directing analysis, calculations, plans, and submittalsDetermine when additional reconnaissance or investigation is required and coordinate second site visits or supplemental data collectionManage pursuit schedules, deliverables, and internal coordination with discipline engineers and estimatorsSupport construction with targeted site visits to validate assumptions and close the loop between design intent and field realityPartner with Project Development Engineers (PDEs) and Regional Leadership on Go / No-Go decisions, risk evaluation, and pursuit prioritizationContribute to regional commercial strategy, including pricing logic, funnel health, and opportunity sequencingDraft and review proposals to ensure technical, commercial, and contractual alignment, with explicit risk ownershipRepresent GSI externally through professional societies, conferences, papers, and presentations, strengthening technical credibility and brand trustAct as Lead Engineer in select client and third-party meetings, translating complexity into clarity and confidenceMaintain disciplined use of CRM tools to support forecasting, opportunity hygiene, and decision-makingSkillsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or related field1+ years in technical sales, business development, or client-facing engineering roles (geotechnical or heavy civil preferred)Strong foundation in geotechnical design principles and constructabilityAbility to operate effectively in fast-paced, deadline-driven environmentsEIT/GIT or PE/PG licensure (or clear trajectory toward licensure)Experience working with DOT'sDemonstrated work in landslides, slope stability, rockfall mitigation, deep foundations, or temporary shoringProficiency with slope stability modeling software (e.g., Rocscience)Experience with Salesforce or similar CRM systemsGIS, Google Earth, or drone experience (FAA Part 107 a plus)Expert ability to interpret USACE, DOT, FHWA plans and specificationsExperience across negotiated work, hard bids, unit price, lump sum, and force account delivery modelsWorking knowledge of CPM scheduling and project budgetsStrong written, oral, and presentation skills with the ability to influence without authorityBenefitsGreat medical, dental, and vision insurance options with additional programs available when enrolledMental health benefits401(k) plan to help save for your future including company matchIn addition to 7 observed holidays, salaried team members have flexible paid time offPaid parental leaveCompany OverviewGeoStabilization International is a North American leader in geohazard mitigation, built around experienced engineers and field crews who respond quickly and execute safely in challenging terrain.
