Job Summary of Store Shift Leader Trainee:

In the role of a Store Shift Leader Trainee, you will be trained in every facet of managing a store successfully to prepare for eventually managing a store independently. Your tasks will include supervising daily store operations, ensuring overall store efficiency, identifying staffing requirements, handling schedules, devising operational plans, and mentoring and cultivating the team.

Duties and Responsibilities of Store Shift Leader Trainee:
? Should be able to carry out responsibilities with or without necessary accommodations. Demonstrate consistent adherence to the Mindsets, ALDI Acts Competencies, and Professional Skills (M.A.P.) specified for the role.
? Supervises the day-to-day operations and performance of the team to provide the highest level of customer service for the customer Understands the overarching company strategy, as well as communicates and models the core values of the organization, to create a sense of teamwork and membership among employees Handles customer concerns and ensures an appropriate resolution
? Ensures proper store signage is maintained at all times, as well as the quality and freshness of ALDI products Assists in the hiring of store personnel by reviewing resumes and employment applications, as well as interviewing candidates Prepares, manages, and revises weekly schedules to ensure appropriate store staffing levels
? Clarifying and sharing job responsibilities and performance criteria with subordinates to ensure mutual understanding and achievement of desired results
? Conducts store meetings Identifies training and development opportunities that will assist direct reports in achieving enhanced performance Conducts annual performance evaluations, recommending store personnel for advancement and termination as appropriate Achieves store payroll and total loss budgets Manages cash audits in conjunction with their direct leader according to company guidelines Monitors the competitive environment within the community and makes recommendations to the direct leader regarding adjustments necessary to maintain a competitive position
? Offers recommendations to their manager on products, such as proposing new additions to the inventory or removing poorly performing items. Maintains a safe environment for staff, customers, and suppliers by identifying and addressing potential hazards, encouraging proper ergonomics, and ensuring the maintenance of store equipment. Oversees product presentation and upholds optimal stock levels through strategic product ordering
? Executes store inventory verifications and reconciliations in alignment with company guidelines

Physical Demands of Store Shift Leader Trainee:
? Ability to stock merchandise from store receiving to shelving; ability to place product, weighing up to 45 pounds, on shelving at various heights Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry and walk about the store Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations.

Qualifications of Store Shift Leader Trainee:
? Candidates must have reached the age of 18 or older to be considered for employment in this position at ALDI
? Capability to excel both individually and collectively in a professional context
? Competency in delivering prompt and polite customer service and leading others to do the same
? - Cultivating a positive relationship, building trust, and encouraging open communication to improve the growth and work output of team members
? Ability to grasp and implement company policies and procedures Ability to set objectives and supervise employee performance to ensure the quality and completion of tasks
? The capability to measure and stimulate the performance of oneself and coworkers
? Skillset in understanding and implementing management frameworks concerning budget allocation, labor expenses, and financial outflows
? Proficiency in the efficient and accurate operation of a cash register
? Proven capability in operating equipment safely and correctly, such as electric or manual hand jacks, floor scrubbers, and cardboard balers, while fulfilling general cleaning duties as outlined by the company
? Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner, following instructions and giving attention to detail Meets any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages
? Having a High School Diploma or an equivalent qualification is advantageous
? Three years of progressive involvement within a retail environment
? A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge Prior management experience preferred Travel: Full-Time Store Manager Trainees will often train at multiple locations and must have flexibility to travel within divisional requirements ALDI offers
