General Summary: A Store Operations Assistant's job consists of providing exceptional customer service, supervising inventory, maintaining store appearance, and ensuring seamless store operations. The position involves conversing with customers, managing products, and assisting with several operational duties to achieve the store's performance objectives.

Duties and Essential Job Functions:
• Customer Service: Ensure customer satisfaction by providing accurate and reliable information about products and services.
• Merchandise Management: With merchandise management, your ultimate goal is to build an eye-catching display that will increase sales and foot traffic.
• Store Maintenance: Maintaining a clean and organized store can also save the store money in the long run. A well-maintained store is less likely to experience equipment malfunctions or damage, reducing the need for costly repairs.
• Cash Handling: Manage transactions and handle cash and credit card payments with skill, making sure to provide change and manage returns or exchanges as needed.
• Inventory Control: Ensure that inventory control is effectively managed through the use of hand-held scanners and timely restocking of products.
• Compliance: Comply with company policies and regulations that enforce safety and operating procedures. Also, adhere to store security measures to prevent any form of loss and protect the company's assets.
• Additional Tasks: Collaborate with the store's management team by assuming additional tasks, such as putting together eye-catching promotional arrangements, coordinating store opening and closing procedures, and completing other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills:
• Customer Service: Successful customer service hinges on the ability to connect positively and empathetically with customers through excellent communication skills and a warm personality.
• Merchandise Handling: Competence in executing plan-o-grams, managing stock efficiently, and organizing merchandise methodically is integral to merchandise handling.
• Cash Handling: Basic math proficiency and knowledge of operating a cash register or point-of-sale system are required competencies for cash handling.
• Attention to Detail: The ability to maintain a clean and well-organized store is a key component of being detail-oriented in retail.

Work Experience and/or Education:
• Education: Individuals with a high school diploma or its substitute often have an edge over others in the recruitment process.
• Experience: While experience in retail or customer service can be an asset, it is not a compulsory requirement to be considered for this position.

Working Conditions:
• The position requires regular movement and a vertical stance throughout the allocated working hours.
• The task may require lifting objects that weigh up to 55 pounds and handling the stores merchandise.
• For those who work in retail, a quick pace and moderate level of noise are a common experience.
• Different weather elements are experienced by those who work in stores.
