Joining us means becoming part of a movement to shape a future where data drives extraordinary outcomes.What You'll DoCloud Optimization & Cost StrategyDrive (and maintain) optimization across all levels of Atlan’s Cloud InfrastructureBuild and maintain a robust framework to monitor, analyze, and reduce cloud cost, directly contributing to lower COGS for Atlan.Collaborate with engineering and product teams to proactively identify waste and implement cost-aware designs, in order to keep costs low with minimal recurring manual effort.FinOps & Business AcumenWork closely with Finance and Product Ops to understand unit economics, cost per customer, and support CAGR tracking.Create visibility into cloud spend trends using dashboards and observability tooling, influencing engineering roadmaps.Tooling & ObservabilityDesign decentralized observability and cost ownership systems for distributed engineering teams.Evaluate and implement third-party tools (e.g., Cast AI, Karpenter, KEDA, HPA/VPA) to drive further efficiencies.AI-powered AutomationApply AI/ML techniques to automate infrastructure management, predictive scaling, anomaly detection, and cost forecasting.Leverage large language models or automation agents to enhance internal workflows (e.g., cost report summaries, ticket triage).Must-Have Qualifications5+ years of experience with cloud platforms, especially AWS (EKS, EC2, S3, Lambda, CloudWatch, Cost Exploring, Billing, etc).3+ years of proven experience in cloud cost optimization, with strong knowledge of cost models and billing intricacies.Deep understanding of COGS, unit economics, CAGR, and cloud-native financial modelling.Ability to proactively identify and execute on cost-saving opportunities across a single-tenant microservices-based architecture.Hands-on experience with AI/ML or automation tools for cost monitoring and optimization.Nice-to-Have SkillsFamiliarity with Karpenter, KEDA, HPA/VPA for auto-scaling and workload right-sizing.Experience using or integrating tools like Cast.ai, KubeCost, or Opencost.Knowledge of distributed observability and decentralized cost management frameworks.Contributions to open-source cloud optimization or DevOps projects.Why Atlan for You?At Atlan, we believe the future belongs to the humans of data.
