Staff Industrial Developer Advocate (Energy & Manufacturing Focus)

The Role
Weâre hiring a Staff Industrial Developer Advocate to serve as the face of TigerData to the industrial developer ecosystem, with a strong focus on energy and manufacturing sectors.
You will combine deep technical understanding with domain fluency and public presence. Youâll lead content and community engagement, build joint initiatives with partners, and serve as a trusted guide for developers, integrators, and architects building real-world industrial systems.
This is a strategic, public-facing, and partnership-heavy role. Youâll work closely with system integrators (SIs), cloud hyperscalers, and industrial tech partners to:
⢠Co-write blogs, guides, and reference architectures
⢠Co-host webinars, events, and customer stories
⢠Build solution narratives that connect infrastructure to industrial transformation
Youâll also bring field insight back into product and engineeringâshaping how TigerData serves industrial users today and tomorrow.
What you will be responsible for in this role
⢠Lead TigerData's voice and presence in the industrial developer community (esp. energy and manufacturing verticals)
⢠Engage deeply with ecosystem partners (SIs, hyperscalers, industrial platforms) to:
⢠Co-author technical content
⢠Co-host webinars, roundtables, and joint events
⢠Build and scale reference implementations and GTM plays
⢠Translate TigerData's infrastructure into compelling industry-specific narratives: edge-to-cloud analytics, predictive maintenance, event processing, asset tracking, and more
⢠Represent TigerData at industry and developer events, panels, webinars, and conferences
⢠Serve as a high-touch advisor to key customers, champions, and stakeholders in the industrial space
⢠Work with Product and Engineering to bring customer use cases and technical feedback directly into our roadmap
⢠Produce technical content and demos tailored for industrial practitioners (engineers, architects, integrators)
⢠Be a visible, credible, and trusted thought leader in the industrial tech ecosystem
About You
⢠You have deep experience in the industrial ecosystemâwhether in energy, manufacturing, automation, or systems integration
⢠Youâve worked directly with or inside SIs, OEMs, industrial cloud platforms, or technology vendors
⢠You understand how to navigate and collaborate with partners, from hyperscalers to boutique integrators
⢠Youâre a compelling communicator: you can write, speak, and lead technical and business conversations
⢠Youâre equally comfortable building demos, writing a whitepaper, or co-hosting a field event with a partner
⢠You can translate deep infra capabilities (Postgres, time-series, edge analytics) into business value in industrial settings
⢠You enjoy shaping strategyâbut you also build, write, and show up
⢠You have a strong networkâor the credibility to build one quicklyâin the industrial tech world
You could be a great fit if you have
⢠Experience with TimescaleDB, PostgreSQL, or modern time-series databases
⢠Familiarity with platforms like AWS IoT, Azure IoT, OSIsoft/PI, PTC ThingWorx, Siemens, or Rockwell
⢠Prior role in partner engineering, or technical solutions or product management in an infrastructure company
⢠Need to know the data infrastructure space and how that applies to Industrial
