EMPLOYMENT TYPE/DURATION: Contract 6 + months

STAFF DATA PRODUCT OWNER
JOB SUMMARY/OVERVIEW
The selected candidate will act as liaison between Business team and Data engineering team. Primarily responsible for requirement gathering, analysis and converting the business requirements into technical requirements for the Data Engineering team. This includes but is not limited to business process analysis, analyzing key data in the process, understanding the data integration needs, and the ability to write effective data requirements regarding business usage and assisting in any solution design. This role will also capture data issues during any work efforts with the business teams and provides the issue details, business usage and other important data facts to the data quality team. The position will understand and adhere to the enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards and practices documented by the data governance team.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Create, document, and manage business conceptual data artifacts, such as conceptual models, critical data element inventory, and define the data based on business usage.
• Manage data requirements elicitation, analysis, and documentation processes to capture business needs.
• Manage and understand business process efforts that take data in, manipulate the data through business rules and produce data outputs.
• Create Business requirement documents (BRD) / Product requirement documents (PRD) and JIRA stories for the Data Engineering team.
• Manage multiple requirements gathering efforts at one time and be able to assimilate into cohesive end to end data requirements when there is data overlap.
• Communicate effectively with business partners to inform and influence important decisions required regarding strategic data direction.
• Promote data governance and architecture.
• Serve as a liaison between Business and Functional areas and technology to ensure that data related business requirements are created for all other policies and standards that apply to data such as privacy, security, and risk.
• Assist Governance Team in capturing metrics that provide insights into effectiveness of data analysis and requirements.
• Rationalize and coordinate external data sources to eliminate redundancy and streamline the expense related to those services.
• Identify and aggregate internal and external data sources.
• Coordinate with data owners/stewards to ensure appropriate data accessibility and quality.
JOB REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Experience:
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in a major services organization, with large-scale data management efforts and oversight experience.
• Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience in Unstructured data processing, cataloging, indexing & storing.
• Knowledge about the cloud data platforms like AWS, Azure or GCP.
• Knowledge about the Large Language Models and AI/ML.
• Knowledge in distributed microservice architecture.
• Knowledge in defining and consuming web services.
• Experience with Agile practices like JIRA story writing.
• Ability to communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.
• Knowledge of industry leading data analysis and requirements practices.
• Knowledge of data governance practices, business and technology issues related to management of enterprise information assets and approaches related to data policies.
• A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace.
• Ability to adapt to a fast paced continually changing business and work environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Experience or knowledge of the CRM systems like Salesforce, Informatica Tools; specifically, IICS, EDC, Axon and DPM preferred, but not required.
• Demonstrated ability to develop relationships to get decisions done.
Education:
• B.S. or M.S. preferably in Computer Science or equivalent technical degree.
• Training Requirements (licenses, programs, or certificates):
• Relevant certifications in product management, machine learning, data science, and other disciplines would be a plus.
