Then keep reading - you’ve come to the right place.Role DescriptionForm Energy is hiring a Staff Commissioning Engineer to play a critical role in the successful deployment of Form’s grid scale battery deployments. As part of the Commercial Operations group, you will be part of the foundational team that is building the commissioning process for Form’s unique product. You will collaborate closely with Product Engineering, Test and Validation, Manufacturing, and Quality teams to drive rapid resolution of issues and product design improvements. You should be comfortable working in the field, executing tasks yourself, directing other engineers and technicians, and coordinating closely with internal and customer stakeholders. This role will also interface with third-party suppliers of system components such as inverters, transformers, and power plant controllers. What you'll do:Develop and operationalize the commissioning process for Form’s fielded battery systemsExecute commissioning and field service tasks on internal test beds and at commercial customer project sitesPerform remote and on-site diagnostics and troubleshooting of equipment using custom software, SQL, data acquisition and energy management softwareDesign and build custom electromechanical tooling required to troubleshoot and repair fielded battery systemsWork closely with Form’s Product Engineering and Product Management teams to develop a deep technical understanding of the product and its applicationSupport and lead cross-functional efforts to determine the root cause of field failures and to drive permanent resolution of these issues with Manufacturing and Engineering teamsWork closely with Form’s software development team to define and develop digital tools to interfacing with battery equipmentTravel to client or project sites 50-80% of the timeWhat you'll bring:7+ years of experience in renewable energy system commissioning or service engineering rolesB.S. in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experienceStrong understanding of SCADA communication protocols such as Modbus and DNP3, networking design and operation, power plant control systems, battery management systems, and utility relay and metering equipmentPrior experience with troubleshooting electrical/electronic and mechanical systems, such as HVDC power converters, HVAC systems, and/or fluid delivery systemsFamiliarity with distributed, industrial-grade control systems that use microcontrollers and CAN bus communications or equivalentSuperior written and verbal communication skillsProven cross-functional leadership and collaboration skillsExcellent attention to detail and ability to produce clear and concise technical documentationValid driver’s licenseAbility to move up to 50 lbs#LI-Onsite#LI-TR1Humanity is a cornerstone of Form Energy’s culture, and we make sure our compensation and benefits reflect that.
