Staff Accountant (Remote – Tax & Advisory Focus)

We combine expert tax strategy, proactive financial planning, and AI-powered technology to give clients clarity and control over their finances.We’re growing our advisory team and looking for aSenior Accountant who’s as comfortable building relationships with clients as they are preparing tax returns and managing financial statements. About the Role As aSenior Accountant at IncSight, you’ll manage a portfolio of approximately 40 small business clients across industries. You’ll provide a mix of monthly accounting, tax preparation, and strategic tax planning services—helping clients understand their numbers and make better business decisions.This is a client-facing role with real advisory impact. You’ll work closely with business owners and collaborate with our internal tax advisory team to deliver proactive strategies year-round. Responsibilities • Prepare individual (1040) and business (1120, 1120S, 1065) tax returns. • Review client financials and perform monthly/quarterly accounting. • Conduct tax planning sessions and identify opportunities to reduce liabilities. • Research and resolve tax and accounting issues for small business clients.• Assist clients with IRS and state correspondence. • Maintain accurate general ledger and reconcile monthly bank statements. • Oversee client payroll and ensure compliance. • Conduct client meetings to discuss tax and business solutions. • Collaborate with other team members to ensure deadlines and client deliverables are met. Qualifications • 5+ years of experience preparing individual and business tax returns. • 5+ years of accounting or bookkeeping experience with small businesses. • EA or CPA license (preferred).• Strong working knowledge of Xero and QuickBooks Online. • Proficiency in tax prep and spreadsheet tools (Proconnect experience a plus). • Excellent communication and client relationship skills. • Tech-savvy, proactive, and able to thrive in a remote work environment.
