Role Overview
They are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Staff Accountant. This role involves managing a portfolio of clients, performing full-cycle accounting duties, and delivering high-quality service. Responsibilities
Perform full-cycle accounting tasks, including accounts payable (AP), accounts receivable (AR), month-end close, and financial statement preparation (P&L, balance sheet).
Manage payroll processing and ensure compliance with Canadian sales taxes (GST/HST).
Reconcile accounts, complete bank reconciliations by the 10th of each month, and maintain accurate financial data.
Communicate with clients to set expectations, provide updates, and manage deadlines effectively.
Collaborate internally via Microsoft Teams and participate in weekly team meetings to discuss client needs and project progress.
Utilize various accounting software, including QuickBooks Online, Xero, and NetSuite, tailored to client requirements.
Employ project management tools (Financial Sense, Keeper) to track tasks and ensure timely completion.
Strong understanding of accounting principles, with experience in Canadian accounting practices, preferably including GST and HST.
Proficiency with accounting software, such as QuickBooks Online, Xero, and NetSuite; familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics is an asset.
Ability to manage multiple clients, prioritize tasks, and meet tight deadlines.
Excellent communication skills with a focus on proactive updates and issue escalation.
Detail-oriented, with effective time management skills and the ability to work backwards from deadlines.
Comfortable working remotely, with at least 4-6 hours of overlap in PST.
Preferred Qualifications:
CPA designation is highly desirable.
Experience in industries such as technology, marketing, professional services, or e-commerce.
