Staff Accountant - Real Estate Management

Skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to work collaboratively within a team • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel & Outlook • CPA track is a plus • Experience with MRI, Nexus Systems, and IBS is a plus Responsibilities • Prepare monthly work papers, financial statements, and management reports • Process journal entries, financial transactions, and perform bank and account reconciliations to maintain accurate account balances • Review and analyze general ledger accounts, addressing any reconciling items or accounting issues promptly • Verify invoices and expenditures daily, ensuring proper classification and recording of all expenses according to set guidelines • Review tenant security deposits upon move-out, ensuring accurate refunds • Assist in preparing the annual property budgets • Close books at year-end and assist in preparing year-end schedules Qualifications • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field • 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management • Must complete an assessment to be considered for the position Education Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field Education Requirements Credential Category • Bachelor’s Degree Experience Requirements • 1-2 years of accounting experience, preferably in real estate or property management Why work in Englewood, NJ Englewood offers a vibrant community with a rich blend of cultural diversity, recreational activities, and convenient access to New York City.
