Staff Accountant (Contract)

About the Role:
Were excited to welcome a part-time Contract Accountant to our growing team as we continue scaling and refining our financial processes. As a critical contributor to our financial operations, youll help ensure accurate records, streamlined workflows, and strategic support for our teams ambitious goals.
In this role, youll collaborate closely with the Controller/Director of Finance while partnering with teams across finance, data analytics, and go-to-market operations. Your work will directly impact our ability to grow sustainably and efficiently.
This contract position is expected to require 10-15 hours per week, making it a flexible opportunity to apply your skills while balancing other commitments. We'd love this individual to be involved in:
Monthly Close Support:
Categorizing transactions in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Airbase
Reconciling bank accounts to maintain accurate financial records
Managing prepaid expenses and fixed assets entries
Supporting accounts payable by processing vendor invoices weekly in Airbase
Reviewing and categorizing transactions in Airbase prior to syncing with QBOEnsuring all W-9s are collected, verified, and securely saved in Airbase
Year-End Responsibilities:
Preparing supporting schedules for annual 1099 filings in coordination with an outside accounting firm
Assisting with tax filing requests to ensure compliance and timely submissions
Special Projects & Support:
Collaborating with our Controller/Director of Finance on financial analysis, reporting, and other strategic initiatives
Supporting process improvements to enhance efficiency across financial operations
What We're Looking For:

3-4+ years of accounting experience, preferably in a high-growth startup or fast-paced setting
Strong understanding of basic accounting principles, policies, and regulations
Proficiency in QuickBooks Online and Airbase (experience with both is a big plus)
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
Ability to work independently, take initiative, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a professional and approachable demeanor
