Sr. Talent & Culture Consultant (Contract, Remote)
About Nexus
At Nexus, we connect people with purpose.
We’re a boutique culture transformation practice that partners with some of the most respected North American and global brands - including Fortune Global 500 organizations - to shape every stage of the candidate, employee, and customer experience, from talent acquisition and onboarding through leadership development, values, and purpose.
Working hand-in-hand with People & Culture, Marketing & Brand, Communications, and Customer Experience teams, we translate enterprise strategy into lived experience, driving impact at scale.
Nexus pairs the strategic rigour of a big-four consultancy with the activation muscle of a creative agency. Our areas of expertise include culture blueprints and cultural narrative, leadership values, Employee Value Propositions (EVPs), purpose and values work, culture transformation, talent acquisition and onboarding, employer brand, performance and development, talent management, recognition, and learning.
The Role
This is a client-facing contract engagement with Nexus. You’re a consultant at heart - an experienced professional with deep expertise in talent and culture, who is comfortable in the room with senior client stakeholders. You thrive on untangling complex problems, breaking them down to their essentials, and designing practical, marketable solutions that move the needle.
We may also be looking for talented Consultants for longer-term contracts, and possibly full time roles.
In this role, you’ll lead the shaping and delivery of strategic talent and culture work for our clients, partnering closely with our design, content, digital, and creative teams to turn strategy into activation. Day-to-day, that means:
Leading client engagements through research, interviews, and workshops, then translating findings into insight reports that shape strategy
Developing core culture assets - culture blueprints and narratives, leadership values, EVPs, and key messaging that bring strategy to life
Building presentations and strategic models that guide client work and support new business pursuits
Growing client relationships built on trust, expanding the account over time
Partnering with design, content, digital, and creative teams to ensure strategy translates into activation with craft and fidelity
Designing solution frameworks that embed thought leadership, propose timelines, mobilize internal and external resources, and include budgets and cost structures
Partnering with business development to craft solution-based proposals for enterprise-level engagements
What You Bring
Broad HR expertise beyond talent acquisition - at least 5 years across areas like talent management, learning and development, total rewards, employee engagement, or DE&I
Strong business acumen from complex organizations, consulting, or enterprise strategy environments
Proven consulting skills, including partnering with senior stakeholders to gather input, shape strategy, and deliver results
Comfort in client-facing settings at every level of an organization, including the C-suite
Deep understanding of organizational structures, culture, and dynamics
Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to clarify complexity, identify value propositions, and articulate solutions clearly
Composure under pressure, with the ability to manage tight deadlines and competing priorities
High integrity, sound judgment, and a genuine commitment to client service
A self-starter mindset - you thrive in fast-paced environments and work well both independently and as part of a team
The ability to guide and educate internal teams and client stakeholders with clarity and confidence
Must-Haves
University degree with a business focus
At least 5 years in complex business, consulting, or enterprise strategy environments
Demonstrated expertise in complex talent and HR topics
Proficiency in MS Office, particularly PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
Experience with project management software is a plus
The Opportunity
This is a fully remote contract role, with the option to work from our downtown Toronto office when it suits you. You’ll gain exposure across industries and some of the most respected North American and global brands, at a competitive contract rate commensurate with experience.
If you’re looking for meaningful contract work with real impact - work that shapes workplace experiences and improves the lives of millions - and you’re ready to bring your consulting expertise to the table, we’d love to hear from you.
