Career Opportunities: Sr Program Officer (666036) Requisition ID 666036 - Posted - Non-Clinical Professional - Sibley Memorial Hospital - Day Shift - Full Time - Washington, DC - Remote: Not on-site or < 10% of hours worked on-site Sr. Program Officer Jane Bancroft Robinson Foundation (JBRF) GENERAL SUMMARY: The Sr. Program Officer will implement a strategy focused on reducing mortality from cancer in women living in Wards 7 and 8 of the District of Columbia. Elements of the strategy will include education, screening, diagnosis, treatment options, transportation, health insurance coverage, due diligence, record keeping, and follow-up. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Develop in-depth knowledge of barriers faced by women in Wards 7 and 8 accessing education, screening, diagnosis and treatment of cancer; key people and organizations serving them; and the healthcare system of the DC metro area. Research the field of patient navigation in regard to certifications, training, career options, and trends. Recommendation of prospective grantees to include the identification of organizations serving women who reside in Wards 7 and 8 in all aspects of education, prevention, screening, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. Managing grant applications to entail due diligence and record keeping: Providing an assessment of the operational, programmatic, and financial capacity of the applicant. Providing an analysis of the feasibility and outcomes of the work proposed by the applicant. Preparing a written report per the findings of the review and underwriting process. Monitoring grantees and outcomes: Develop a process to monitor grantees, the use of funds, and outcomes. Provide semi-annual written reports to the President/CEO and board of trustees of the Foundation. Serve as primary contact for grantees throughout the grant relationship, including helping the grantees to develop effective approaches to achieve results compatible with foundation objectives. Proficient use of web-based management system to manage all foundation and grant compliance and record keeping. Respond to current and emerging needs and grow the patient navigation field in cooperation with nonprofit organizations, funder collaborative groups, government agencies, and others. ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Performs other related duties as assigned by the President/CEO of the JBRF Assist in the implementation of efforts to prepare women residing in Wards 7 and 8 for health-related careers, thereby increasing their personal empowerment and financial security. Address and recommend grantees working in areas related to the social determinants of health in Wards 7 and 8. SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED: Experience working in a healthcare, community development, or grant making organization (particularly working in low-income communities). Good judgment, initiative and critical thinking skills. Excellent verbal, analytic, and oral communication skills. Attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to envision strategic success while implementing day-to-day detail requirements. Commitment to the mission of the Jane Bancroft Robinson Foundation. Ability to learn and utilize web-based grants management system. Ability to use computer technology to create reports, graphs, charges, and analysis. Experience working in an office setting and in the community. Ability to work on a number of tasks simultaneously. MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: College graduate (Associate’s or Bachelor’s) Minimum of five-seven years of compatible experience. Knowledge of medical terminology. Salary Range: Minimum 63.92/hour - Maximum 102.27/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility.
