Join Amazon Photos as a Senior Product Manager Technical to lead our Trusted Upload & Storage Intelligence initiatives. In this pivotal role, you'll own the end-to-end ingest pipeline, metadata management, format support, and smart storage systems that power Amazon Photos' memory platform. Your mission is to deliver seamless, intelligent, and scalable media ingestion from any source while optimizing device health and storage, ensuring customers can always capture their next memory.

You'll drive innovations in upload reliability, speed, and efficiency, as well as develop intelligent storage solutions that balance customer needs with operational costs. Key job responsibilities
• Own and evolve the end-to-end upload experience for Amazon Photos across mobile (iOS, Android) and desktop platforms, including auto-save, manual upload, and smart back-up features
• Lead the development of new device ingestion capabilities for emerging technologies and future devices
• Drive the strategy for metadata extraction, storage, health, and management
• Spearhead the integration with the Data Transfer Project to enable seamless cloud-to-cloud migration
• Develop and implement strategies to improve upload reliability, speed, and efficiency, including optimizations for iOS and Android platforms
• Lead the development of intelligent storage solutions, optimizing for both customer experience and operational efficiency
• Partner with engineering teams to build advanced capabilities such as smart compression, deduplication, and format conversion
• Define and track success metrics around upload performance, storage utilization, and customer satisfaction
• Collaborate with security teams to ensure robust protection of customer data during upload and storage processes
• Drive cross-team initiatives to integrate upload and storage improvements across Amazon Photos systems

A day in the life
Your role will involve close collaboration with engineering teams, data scientists, and other product managers to continuously improve our upload and storage capabilities. A typical day might include:
• Analyzing upload performance data to identify areas for improvement across iOS and Android platforms
• Brainstorming with engineers on new compression algorithms to optimize storage
• Reviewing security protocols for uploaded content with the Trust & Safety team
• Coordinating with mobile teams to enhance upload functionality in iOS and Android apps
• Presenting storage optimization strategies to senior leadership
• Collaborating with UX designers to simplify the upload process for customers
• Prioritizing backlog items for upcoming sprints with your engineering counterparts
• Evaluating new media format support requirements and planning the coverage roadmap
• Discussing integration strategies for the Data Transfer Project with partner companies

About the team
The Amazon Photos Product & Program team consists of Product Management, Technical Program Management, and User Experience Designers with vast levels of experience. Our team members come from diverse disciplines, various company sizes, and at least five countries. We share a passion for solving our customer’s problems, continuously improving our craft, and striving to become a center of excellence in Product Management at Amazon. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• 2+ years of end to end product delivery experience
• 5+ years of technical product or program management experience
• Bachelor's degree
• Experience contributing to engineering discussions around technology decisions and strategy related to a product
• Experience with feature delivery and tradeoffs of a product
• Experience owning/driving roadmap strategy and definition
• Experience managing technical products or online services
• Experience in representing and advocating for a variety of critical customers and stakeholders during executive-level prioritization and planning

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• Experience in using analytical tools, such as Tableau, Qlikview, QuickSight
• Experience in building and driving adoption of new tools
• Experience in product management for consumer products

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $235,200/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
