Location: US remote-friendly As a Sr. Manager of Data Science in the Consumer Data Science team, you will be responsible for (1) leading multiple Data Science teams that improves our understanding of our ecosystem and user base (2) turn these understandings to actionable recommendations that shape our product strategy and roadmap and (3) scale the team and maximize its efficiency and impact through building and improving self service tools and our data stack! How You’ll Have Impact: • You will drive the adoption of strategic and tactical recommendations that are based on (1) deep and hands-on experience with Reddit products, and (2) data skills and understanding, to maximize our value to Reddit consumers. • You will own your team performance, leveling up the efficiency, effectiveness and impact to maximize Data Science influence on our partner teams. • You will coach and mentor your team members, helping them make greater impact and accelerate their career growth. What You’ll Learn: • How to contribute to our understanding of how Reddit ecosystem works, who are our user base, and how we can add most value to them. • How to develop tight relationships and feedback loops with Product, Engineering and Finance leads to drive maximal influence. • How to apply Data Science best practices, iterate and learn quickly to build high performing Data Science teams. Responsibilities: • Influence product pillars strategies through synthesizing your team’s analyses and experiments into compelling, coherent and concise presentations to leadership. • Shape the roadmap of product and engineering teams by delivering tactical recommendations that are adopted and drive impact. • Define what success for product teams means, collaborate with engineering to measure KPIs, and develop self service tools to monitor and understand these KPIs autonomously. • Lead and manage a team of Data Scientists and Managers; set and keep a high excellence and performance standards. • Build and manage relationships with product, engineering and finance leadership teams. • Improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Data Science team at Reddit. Required Qualifications: • 8+ years of experience in Data Science and Analytics function in consumer tech orgs. • 4+ years of management experience, including 2+ years of leading managers. • Proven track record of driving impact and leading high-performing Data Science and Analytics teams. • Experience in communicating effectively to leadership teams • Proficient in SQL and at least one BI tool (eg. In addition to base salary, this job is eligible to receive equity in the form of restricted stock units, and depending on the position offered, it may also be eligible to receive a commission.
