About The Role

The Senior Director of Data & Analytics will play a crucial role in shaping strategies and overseeing projects that enhance unique business and product capabilities through Data Analytics and Machine Learning. This role also focuses on supporting and empowering the entire organization to adopt data-driven approaches and advanced analytics to achieve business objectives.

Requirements

- Define, articulate, and execute the vision, strategy, roadmap, and planning for database augmentation, data maintenance/QA, and advanced analytics capabilities across all business channels.

- Engage with senior business leaders to understand priorities and key initiatives, identify, and educate on how data analytics can provide valuable insights.

- Guide business partners on interpreting data analytics results. Prepare and deliver presentations that translate analytic insights into actionable solutions.

- Design and implement processes, structures, and systems for scaling data analytics capabilities across the organization.

- Lead a team, including discussions, goal setting, team motivation, performance management, recruitment, and retention. This role demands a leader who can be both a player and a coach.

- Inspire and develop a team of distributed data analysts and data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation, agility, continuous improvement, and openness.

- Utilize expertise in quantitative analysis and data mining to develop data-informed strategies for enhancing product offerings.

- Maintain a hands-on approach and build/review BI dashboards, stakeholder tools, and statistical models to bolster informed decision-making.

- Stay informed on industry, market, and company trends and collaborate with leaders to champion the adoption of new data and analytic techniques and capabilities.

- Evaluate, vet, and recommend third-party vendors as necessary.

Experience

- 8+ years of hands-on experience in Data Engineering and Advanced Analytics.

- Previous experience leading a team of Data Analysts and Data Scientists.

- Proven track record in developing and delivering advanced, actionable Data Analytics and Machine Learning / AI products, including creating predictive models that serve as the foundation for new offerings.

- Experience collaborating with product teams to foster ideation and track performance metrics for new products and features.

- Proficiency in one or more programming languages, such as Python, R, Java, C++, etc.

- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to summarize findings into actionable recommendations and interact with individuals at all levels.

- Advanced proficiency in SQL, including performing time-series analysis, aggregate analysis over complex datasets, multi-table joins, and query optimization.

- Familiarity with implementing business intelligence tools within high-growth and dynamic organizations (e.g., Looker).

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced remote work environment.

- Strong project management skills and ability to prioritize work effectively.

- Quick to understand new technologies and data environments.
