This is a role for an entrepreneurial frontend engineer with deep design systems expertise and product taste. You will build the component foundations and experimentation tooling that make 0-to-1 delivery fast, testable, and repeatable, while maintaining a high bar for UX quality and implementation craft.What You'll DoYou will work across product, design, ML, and engineering to identify the right bets, build production-safe prototypes, validate with users, and either hand off successful, product-ready betas or sunset with shared learnings. Expect to:Build and evolve a design system and component library that scales across rapid experiments without sacrificing consistency, accessibility, or UX qualityShape frontend architecture patterns that enable AI-assisted development workflows while keeping interfaces reliable, understandable, and easy to iterateBuild right-sized product UX for Labs experiments - from problem exploration and wireframing through rapid prototypes to high-quality beta-ready workflowsPartner deeply with design to translate foundational design principles into codified visual language, interaction patterns, and UX guardrails in reusable primitives and documented standardsBuild and own a repeatable experimentation framework (process + tooling) that supports fast prototyping, user feedback loops, and meaningful participation from org-wide contributorsDefine graduation criteria for product bets: interface contracts, accessibility baselines, analytics hooks, known limitations, and transition plansTalk directly with users and internal stakeholders to refine problem framing and validate assumptions earlyAbout YouYou are excited to have unusual autonomy and greenfield scope in a company with real revenue and customers. You thrive in ambiguity, don't mind that some experiments get killed, and are energized by the challenge of building something new inside an established organization. If that sounds like a feature and not a bug, let's go!You have:7+ years experience shipping customer-facing web products, with significant depth owning design systems or component libraries at scaleStrong React and TypeScript skills; comfort owning complex frontend architecture decisionsA track record of building functional, tasteful UI with high craft standards, simplifying complex workflows, and articulating why interaction choices workExperience building tools, templates, or frameworks that accelerate other people’s work, including non-engineering collaboratorsAbility and interest in shaping codebases for emerging AI workflowsOwnership of ambiguous, high-impact problems from concept through deployment and iterationProduct engineering instincts: you can define problems, simplify scope, and prioritize what creates measurable valueClear written and verbal communication in a remote, async environmentA builder mentality and bias to action; you are self-directed and learn quickly in new domainsA major plus if you also bring:Experience as a technical founder or early engineer at a high-growth SaaS companyExperience with AI/LLM-assisted product development workflows for frontend teamsFamiliarity with 3D interfaces, WebGL/Three.js, or creative tooling workflowsWhile we've identified the core experience and skills required above, please still apply if you have more or different experience than this!
