Sr. Database Engineer - SQL (Remote)
Join Our Team of Innovators at Disney Entertainment & ESPN Technology We're seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Engineer - SQL to join our Engineering Services team, where you'll play a critical role in designing, building, and maintaining highly available relational database systems that power our digital media supply chain and consumer-facing products. About the Role: In this exciting and fast-paced environment, you'll apply software engineering principles to database engineering and administration, building processes and automation to deliver infrastructure faster, safer, and more consistently. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide guidance on SQL Server best practices and contribute to the development of groundbreaking products and techniques that shape industry norms. Key Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain highly available relational database systems operating across multiple cloud and on-premise environments Apply software development and automation to deliver database infrastructure, ensuring 24/7/365 availability Participate in setting the architectural direction for database platforms and projects, analyzing, designing, and deploying fault-tolerant, distributed, and highly available database infrastructure Develop automation and tooling to increase operational efficiency, ensuring system reliability and security Provide database expertise through performance tuning, troubleshooting, and administration, and develop, enhance, and adhere to engineering and administration standards Requirements: 5+ years of related work experience with Microsoft SQL Server, Amazon RDS for SQL Server, Azure SQL, and Azure SQL MI Fundamental understanding of Microsoft SQL Server database internals and experience working in Agile software development Intermediate to advanced level of expertise in one or more programming languages such as Python, Java, or Go Excellent verbal and written communication skills and experience designing and deploying fault-tolerant, distributed, and highly available database infrastructure Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field What We Offer: Competitive salary and benefits package Opportunity to work on groundbreaking products and techniques that shape industry norms Collaborative and dynamic work environment with a team of innovators Professional development and growth opportunities Remote work arrangement How to Apply: Ready to join our team of innovators?
