Sr. Consultant, Advanced Methodologies
Numerator is looking for a Senior Consultant to own our Advanced Methodology project workstreams (behavioral patterns, regression, clustering, etc.) from scope to execution to client delivery. This is a unique opportunity to work with Numerator's unparalleled proprietary, privacy compliant, consumer-sourced data disrupting data paradigms at major brands in the CPG industry and beyond. You will make an immediate impact as you help expand our methodological & technological toolkit by prototyping new-to-market, innovative analyses to solve our clients' most interesting business problems
The Advanced Methodologies Sr. Consultant is a highly-autonomous role designed to translate innovative ideas to statistically-sound methodology and conduct complex analyses using Numerator's data that expand Numerator's solution suite and reinforce our leadership in the marketplace. The ideal candidate has held various positions in both data science and project delivery functions. Since a major requirement for this role is to evaluate methodologies and prototype new analyses, the ideal candidate should also be experienced with processing large quantities of data, building algorithms in partnership with software engineers, and foundationally rooted in applied statistics.
How You'll Spend Your Time:
• Lead the end-to-end scoping, execution, and delivery of diverse projects involving heavy data, statistical modeling (sampling, clustering, segmentation, classification, etc.), or both
• Leverage your combination of business sense and statistical rigor to translate clients' business needs to bespoke technical approaches that drive outcomes for their business
• Independently explore, document, and test new possibilities with our data to solve our clients' most complex problems
• Serve as a technical advisor and data expert for internal project partners (support team gathering requirements, document project technical specs, discuss and iterate methodologies, etc.)
• Collaborate with other Numerator teams to prototype and iterate analyses to scale your work across our consulting, survey research, data science, product, and engineering organizations
• Contribute to strategic product innovation by co-developing new syndicated analytical solutions that integrate survey and panel data.
• Coordinate across technical and business stakeholders to bring new products to market, guiding planning, development, validation, and deployment in a product/project management capacity.
• Freely share & document ideas in a collaborative environment dedicated to building the future of Numerator's products and services
Skills & Requirements
• BS in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Physics, or other behavioral and/or equivalent quantitative science
• 7+ years of industry experience as a data scientist or equally data-heavy role, with experience directly interfacing with internal and/or external clients
• Proficiency in SQL and Python, and/or R
• Highly autonomous, versatile, intellectually curious and resilient to navigate a complex data system
• Demonstrated ability to tailor technical communication to a variety of altitudes and technical vs. non-technical audiences
• Ability to exercise independent judgment in deciding techniques and evaluation criteria to apply diverse statistical methods to drive our clients' business results and represent Numerator's best interests
• Experience with applied statistics across various data types and sizes
• Track record of successfully managing long term (several months) projects with consistent progress and communication
Nice To Haves:
• Masters/ PhD in Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Physics or equivalent quantitative science
• Experience working with marketing insights, shopping data, or in the retail industry
• Track record of delivering innovative solutions supported by production-ready code
• Experience understanding, analyzing and modeling user data and behavioral trends
• Enthusiasm for identifying and pursuing new business and product opportunities; unleashing creativity especially in a team environment
• Solid understanding of transactional databases (e.g. MySQL, Postgres, etc.), and experience building data models
