Job description: Basic Job Responsibility: To provide financial assistance and operational support to Woodside Ventures dba Carolina Signature Homes. This role will contribute to the efficient and effective workings of the finance department by executing daily tasks for all affiliated Woodside companies with strong attention to detail. Additionally, this role will utilize strong accounting knowledge, time management skills, and effective problem solving to ensure success. The Senior Construction Accountant's primary areas of responsibility are provided below.
Specific Responsibilities:
• Responsible for and maintains the general ledger, bank reconciliations, accounts payable, and job cost for each construction job.
• Maintaining or reviewing accounting files, performing monthly closings, and preparing/organizing various reports, financial forms, and analyses.
• Managing the preparation of monthly invoice packages for all billable projects, including all applicable backups.
• Setting up new projects in necessary spreadsheets daily.
• Overseeing and handling the creation and approval of all project-related billings to customers to foster good communication and avoid issues.
• Reviewing project budgets, including fee structures, staffing, and work plans
• Review and analyze costs' capitalization and ensure compliance with the policy by managing the process for proper coding of construction invoices/payment applications and lien releases for contractors, subcontractors, and vendor invoices.
• Reviewing all construction/project budgets, including work plans, staffing, and fee structures which help to promote the smooth running of the construction.
• Ensure a steady cash flow by generating, auditing, and sending invoices promptly.
• Communicate routinely with the Construction/Project Managers on various job-related topics, including contract agreements, bonding, and insurance.
Position Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree with two years of general accounting experience and a background in construction accounting.
• At least 2 years of experience utilizing QuickBooks.
• Builder Trend experience preferred but not required.
• Strong Microsoft Office Skills
• Time management skills include multitasking skills, problem-solving skills, and strong organization skills.
• Business analysis and cost analysis skills.
• Efficient verbal and written communication skills.
