Sr. Azure Engineer- Remote
Senior Azure Engineer- Remote PlanIT Group is hiring a Senior Azure Engineer- Remote. This Engineer will touch everything from the Azure side while coordinating migrations, even things on-prem while the company transitions fully to the Azure environment. Good understanding of traditional on prem items: Active Directory, DNS, understanding website configuration, IAS, and the whole Azure environment how to build up a server, knowing what encryption means, how to create load balancer for SQL Server, understanding Azure terminology and how it connects. PAAS, incorporate Azure data factory then use reporting through Power BI. This person will be over a lot of moving things as it will vary between old infrastructure as a service to new platform as a service. It is an open contract with an outgoing team with excellent management. Thank you for your time! Requirements • A minimum of 10 years hands on experience in the IT field. • 5+ years in migrating, building and supporting data centers in Azure including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, containers, WAFs, and region to region redundancy • 5+ years in a technical position. • In depth knowledge and experience with the Azure portal and CLI including serial console-- Comfortable with consistent communication, updates and engagement at the customer, peer and management level. • Deep Understanding of cloud computing technologies across Windows and Linux, with demonstrated hands-on experience on one or more of the following domains: • Azure Core Platform: Compute, Storage, Networking required • Data Platform: SQL Server, Azure SQL DB, Azure Data Factory • You will be required to work off hours to deeply engage with customers to understand their architecture and operations, and work to continuously improve their overall Azure support experience. • Collaborate with Azure engineering teams to not only support but deliver solutions and new capabilities for our customers most mission-critical Azure deployments. • Apply an engineering mindset to eliminate top issues impacting customer experience across all company assets. • Work with project managers and Integration team to lead on premise to Azure application migrations • Develop and present training for the Azure Cloud Engineering team.
