About the position

If so, join Principal's Retirement Investment Solutions team as an Sr. Analyst - Investment Analytics to provide investment analysis support for the investment platform to business partners. The selected candidate will provide thorough and accurate consultative input to sales and client service personnel to drive sales and team revenue goals by:
Provide analysis on performance, risk, style, holdings, and qualitative attributes of investment options and proactively research and analyze competitor offerings and position our products and services appropriately.
Develop performance and analytical reports, share insights and recommendations and maintain controls in alignment with internal policies.
Create, update, and distribute value-add materials and participate in conference calls with financial advisors and/or internal personnel.
Coordinate and facilitate training for multiple business partners, including new and existing employees including educating sales and relationship management personnel on tools and resources they need to serve advisor, back office and plan sponsor audiences.
Proactively initiate and/or lead projects that lead to enhanced service quality and allow the department to efficiently serve stakeholders.

Responsibilities
• Provide analysis on performance, risk, style, holdings, and qualitative attributes of investment options and proactively research and analyze competitor offerings and position our products and services appropriately.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree (Financial or Business degree preferred) or equivalent, plus 5+ years of related experience resulting in knowledge of retirement and investment products.
• Strong proficiency with Morningstar Advisor (or similar tool) and Microsoft Office applications PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Detail‑oriented with strong accuracy and follow‑through.
• Proven relationship‑building skills across various stakeholders.
• Strong research abilities with the capacity to efficiently analyze and synthesize information.
• Adept at managing multiple requests while meeting strict deadlines.
• Capable of making sound, independent business decisions.
• Some travel may be required.
• Licenses must be held in conformity with state and federal rules and company standards as detailed in the existing licensing policy.
• The following licenses need to be acquired within 90 days of hiring:
Series 7 & 63

Nice-to-haves
• Advanced degree and/or industry designations such as CFA or CIMA preferred.

Benefits
• Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don’t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.
