Great for someone who is looking for a temporary position- with a chance to turn into full-time. • Develop and implement sophisticated machine learning models using frameworks like TensorFlow and Spark to analyze large-scale sports datasets. • Design and optimize database schemas for efficient storage and retrieval of structured and unstructured sports data, including linked data sources. • Conduct extensive data mining and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes utilizing tools such as Talend, SAS, and Bash scripts to prepare datasets for analysis. • Apply unsupervised learning techniques to identify hidden patterns in complex datasets, supporting predictive analytics and strategic insights. • Deploy models into production environments using cloud platforms like AWS, ensuring scalability and real-time performance. • Utilize natural language processing (NLP) to analyze textual data such as game commentary, social media feeds, or player interviews for sentiment analysis and trend detection. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop dashboards and visualizations using Looker or similar tools that communicate findings clearly to stakeholders. . • Maintain comprehensive documentation of data workflows, model training procedures, and deployment pipelines to ensure reproducibility and compliance. • Experience in sports analytics or related fields with a strong foundation in machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch. • Hands-on expertise with big data technologies including Hadoop, Spark, and SQL-based databases; familiarity with NoSQL databases is a plus. • Demonstrated ability to design scalable database architectures and perform complex data mining tasks across diverse datasets. • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, Java, C, and VBA for automation, analysis, and model development. • Experience deploying AI models into cloud environments like AWS with an understanding of model training versus deployment processes. • Knowledge of natural language processing techniques for analyzing textual sports content or social media streams. • Familiarity with analytics tools such as Looker or Tableau for creating impactful visualizations that support decision-making. • Strong analytical mindset combined with excellent communication skills to translate technical insights into strategic recommendations. The position will be highly collaborative but there will be plenty of room for creative freedom. • Educational background in computer science, quantum engineering, statistics or related disciplines; advanced degrees are preferred but not mandatory.
