About the position

The Internal Investigator at Huntington Bank is responsible for investigating suspected internal fraud and financial crimes within the organization. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of financial transactions, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work independently. The investigator will document investigative activities, compile evidence, and file Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) as necessary. Additionally, the position involves liaising with law enforcement and representing the bank in legal matters related to fraud.

Responsibilities
• Investigate suspected internal fraud and financial crimes.
,
• Analyze bank systems and financial transactions.
,
• Conduct interviews with colleagues to gather information for internal cases.
,
• Document investigative activities in the case management system.
,
• Collect and compile evidence to support cases.
,
• File Suspicious Activity Reports (SARs) or criminal complaints as needed.
,
• Review investigation conclusions and recommendations with Business Line Management.
,
• Coordinate with Management and Human Resources on corrective actions.
,
• Act as a liaison to law enforcement regarding fraudulent activities.
,
• Identify and communicate organized crime or fraud trends with internal and external partners.
,
• Represent the bank in criminal or conciliation court matters.

Requirements
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
,
• 3 years of experience in Internal Investigations in the Banking and Financial Services industry
,
• 1 year of experience writing Suspicious Activity Reports
,
• Strong proficiency with Windows 10 and Microsoft Office programs (including Excel and OneNote)
,
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
,
• Current driver's license and personal vehicle for travel.
