Specialized Tax Credits and Government Incentives (SR&ED), Senior Associate

PwC Canada offers a career in their tax credits and government incentives practice, providing clients with solutions to complex business issues related to tax credits and incentives. The Senior Associate will manage engagements and client relationships, assist in tax research, and contribute to the growth of the practice. Responsibilities Assist in preparing tax credits and government incentives engagements from end-to-end, including identifying relevant programs applicable to clients’ projects and preparing tax forms, incentives applications and supporting documentation Conduct in-depth tax research, prepare technical positions, analyze, interpret and apply newly enacted or evolving tax legislation, translating it into practical client solutions (including federal clean economy investment tax credits, Quebec Incentive for the commercialization of innovations, C3I etc.) Assist in tax authorities’ audits and interactions Assist in managing a portfolio of clients, including direct communication, understanding business needs and proactive file follow-up while maintaining a high level of quality and professional standards Simplify complex messages and tax legislation, and communicate key insights clearly to diverse audiences Collaborate closely with other members of the team and other departments Contribute to the growth and development of the tax credits and government incentives practice, particularly in response to evolving tax measures and client needs Stay informed on global and local trends and their impact on clients to shape strategic perspectives Skills Bachelor's degree in accounting or law Between 1-2 years of relevant experience in taxation (previous specialized experience in tax credits is not mandatory but considered an asset) Strong ability to analyze and interpret tax legislation Highly autonomous, proactive and capable of completing complex files from start to finish Strong advisory and client relationship skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to thrive in a consulting environment with multiple simultaneous assignments Excellent interpersonal skills, good communication and presentation abilities Ability to think strategically, work independently and contribute to the team Fluency in French and full business proficiency in English is required Benefits Opportunities to participate in variable incentive pay programs Competitive compensation Inclusive benefits Flexibility programs Company Overview PwC Canada helps organizations and individuals create the value they're looking for by inspiring people & bringing perspectives together.
