Position at a Glance: Start Date: Immediate openings available Position: Specialized Health Paraprofessional - 2 Positions Available Compensation: Competitive salary range of $16.24-$19.60 per hour Location: Grosse Pointe, MI (with remote work options) Company: Wayne RESA Job Summary: As a Specialized Health Paraprofessional at Wayne RESA, you will be responsible for providing essential physical and educational support to students with diverse needs. Your primary responsibilities will include: Key Responsibilities: Providing specialized physical health care services, including: Suctioning and blood sugar testing Medication administration and drip and tube feeding administration Changing diapers and other specialized services Operating specialized medical equipment and instruments for assessment and treatment Responding to emergencies and evaluating student conditions Providing health instruction and care as needed Assisting with basic instructional tasks in the classroom or on field trips Working with students individually or in small groups, tutoring, and reinforcing lesson plans Assisting teachers with maintaining an attractive and stimulating classroom environment Supporting students with personal hygiene, good grooming, and manners Collaborating with teachers to devise special strategies for reinforcing material or skills Maintaining confidentiality and high levels of ethical behavior Requirements and Qualifications: To be successful in this role, you will need: Essential Qualifications: Associate's Degree or higher, or Workkey's Proficiency Certificate for Teacher's Assistants Formal State or local academic assessment demonstrating knowledge and ability to assist in instructing Knowledge of special education programs and procedures Ability to take direction from School Nurses and Directors of Special Education Proficiency in operating modern office equipment, personal computers, and related software Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience working with students with diverse needs Certification in a related field (e.g., nursing, education) Bilingual or multilingual skills What We Offer: At Wayne RESA, we are committed to supporting the growth and development of our team members.
