The Training Specialist role involves developing, implementing, and evaluating training plans and programs while serving as a mentor and subject matter expert to claims staff and training associates.ResponsibilitiesServes as a subject matter expect, mentor and coach to claims staff and training associatesManages and oversees desk management, reviews/analyzes, and acts on statistic reviews for claims staff under mentor including trends, workflow, claim assignments, etcProvides coaching and feedback to claims staff and training associatesMaintains knowledge on current and emerging developments/trends for assigned area(s) of responsibility, assesses the impact, and collaborates with management to incorporate new trends and developments in current and future solutionsPromotes and enhances organizational initiatives by positively influencing and supporting change management and/or departmental/enterprise initiativesPerforms and delivers on routine assignments/projects while simultaneously leveraging and applying knowledgeIdentifies and communicates to management process improvements that reduce workloads or improve qualityDevelops, implements, and evaluates training plans and programs to meet departmental training objectivesDevelops training materials, manuals, procedures and/or visual aids to meet objectives of his/her assigned area(s) of responsibilityDevelops and conducts training needs assessments and determines training requirements for new program developmentConducts training and ongoing training evaluations to ensure effectiveness of programs and recommends modifications as necessaryLiaises to ensure training materials, procedures, plans and/or programs reflect business needs and support organizational readinessProactively collaborates and communicates with appropriate internal/external stakeholders to address training gaps to optimize organizational performanceMay share knowledge with junior and/or peer team membersSkills4 Year / Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience (4 years of experience in lieu of Bachelor's)1-2+ years of mentoring and coaching experience1 - 3+ Years' experience in training that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities for this positionEmployee must be able to work more than 40 hrs per week when necessaryKnowledge of curriculum development principlesAbility to perform under stress in cases of emergency, critical or hazardous situationsEvaluate trends in data or informationAbility to evaluate information and the implications of a course of action or solutionTraining and/or mentoring experienceBenefitsClearly defined career tracks and job levels, along with associated behaviors for each of Lincoln's core values and leadership attributesLeadership development and virtual training opportunitiesPTO/parental leaveCompetitive 401K and employee benefitsFree financial counseling, health coaching and employee assistance programTuition assistance programWork arrangements that work for youEffective productivity/technology tools and trainingCompany OverviewLincoln Financial (NYSE: LNC) helps people to confidently plan for their version of a successful future.
