Nationwide's Information Technology team is seeking an experienced Oracle DBA Specialist to join our dynamic and innovative team. As an Oracle DBA Specialist, you will play a critical role in supporting our Oracle database environment, ensuring data integrity, availability, and performance. Key Responsibilities Install, configure, upgrade, patch, and maintain Oracle databases on various platforms Monitor and optimize database performance, ensuring data integrity and availability Implement backup and recovery strategies, and troubleshoot database issues Collaborate with other DBAs, developers, and business users to provide high-quality database solutions Develop and implement standard builds/templates for Oracle databases Analyze reports and delivery recommendations to remediate capacity issues Design and implement standard and custom technology solutions for business partner projects Conduct proactive system maintenance, disaster recovery planning, data backup and recovery Execute production engineering processes, incident management, root cause analysis, problem management, change management, release management, and knowledge management Essential Qualifications 3-5 years of experience in a database or application development position using Oracle databases Knowledge of Oracle DBMS concepts, architecture, and features Familiarity with SQL and PL/SQL languages and tools Ability to write and execute scripts and queries Understanding of database security principles and best practices Experience with Linux/Unix operating systems and commands Good communication and teamwork skills Eagerness to learn new technologies and skills Preferred Qualifications Undergraduate studies in computer science, management information systems, or a related field Technology certifications or designation (e.g., AWS, Azure, scripting and development languages) Experience with automation of solution configurations deployment and system management processes and tools Knowledge of IaaS, PaaS, SaaS, and Package Solutions Insurance/financial services industry knowledge Career Growth Opportunities and Learning Benefits At Nationwide, we're committed to helping our associates grow and develop their skills.
