Specialist II, Freight Expense & Claims Management
About the position
The Specialist II, Freight Expense & Claims Management role is responsible for the daily review, audit, and processing of carrier freight invoices and adjustments, as well as freight cargo claims within Sysco Corporate Logistics. This position serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Freight Expense & Cargo Claims Management (FECM) team, focusing on complicated accounts and ensuring the integrity of data and systems related to freight management.
Responsibilities
Ā Review and audit inbound freight invoices and payment processing for complicated accounts.

Ā Process freight cargo claims, including evaluating and researching claim requests from Sysco operating companies.

Ā Identify and resolve errors or discrepancies in claims, providing guidance for claims mitigation and closure.

Ā Maintain data integrity and control of the system of record for freight claims.
,
Ā Provide regular reporting and basic data analysis for management and the team.
,
Ā Communicate effectively across all levels within the organization regarding freight management processes.
,
Ā Participate in process improvement projects and initiatives related to the FECM function.
Requirements
Ā Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, logistics, supply chain, computer science, or engineering disciplines.

Ā 1-2 years of relevant experience, or 6 years of equivalent professional experience.

Ā Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; proficiency in Microsoft Access is desirable.

Ā Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) is highly desirable.
,
Ā Strong attention to detail and accuracy in processing invoices and claims.
,
Ā Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with adaptive communication style based on audience.
,
Ā Self-motivated with strong follow-up skills and a sense of urgency.

Ā Effective organization and time management skills.
