Position DetailsPosition DetailsDepartment / Sub-Department Academics / Multi-Tiered Support Systems (MTSS)Reporting Manager (Title Only)Supervisor, Multi-Tiered Support Systems (MTSS)Employment Status Salary, Full-Time (10) Employment Type ExemptProgram Remote - Texas Virtual SchoolsOverviewThe Special Programs Interventionist (SPI) virtually delivers the instruction and adaptation of theinstructional program using the Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) model to facilitatestudent learning by district policies and state guidelines. The SPI evaluates and measures theeffectiveness of specific MTSS strategies and interventions to refine Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3levels of support. Essential DutiesDesigns and implements strategies to promote intellectual, social, and physical growth in all students identified for intervention needsUtilize performance, survey and observation, and attendance data to help teachers identify and group children who need additional support.Regularly supports the instructional programs with regular and special education teachers.Assist teachers in developing and implementing classroom-based, developmentally appropriate interventions for individual children and groups of children to enhance their acquisition of social/emotional and cognitive skills.Support teachers in documenting childrenās progress Facilitate the Student Support Team (SST) process with the principal, support staff, parents, and instructional staffDevelop and use instructional and behavioral support tools (Tier 2 Planning form, SST forms, functional behavior assessment, and behavior management plans) effectivelyGather and organize grade-level/subject-area universal assessment tools and develop assessments for progress monitoring purposes for all teachersDesign collaborative systems to support the sharing of MTSS best practicesImplement and track all Tier 3 support for all identified students, design systems and tools to measure its effectiveness, and refine strategies and support as needed to improve resultsMaintain and update online resources with RTI forms and informationFacilitate data-driven conferences with teachers to inform instruction effectivelyKnowledge, Skills & AttributesDemonstrated competency in at least one of the special program areas.Knowledge of the Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process andIndividual Education Plan (IEP) goal-setting process and implementation.Knowledge of dyslexia teaching methods and services, Section 504, Response to Intervention (RTI).Knowledge of Gifted and Talented Programs.Knowledge of how to adapt curriculum and instruction for special needs.Ability to provide virtual/distance learning to students via Google Classroom and other multimedia options in response to pandemics, natural disasters, catastrophic events, etc.Education & Certification RequirementsA bachelorās degree from an accredited university is required.A valid Texas teaching certificate with a required endorsement for the subject/area and level assigned.Benefits & Incentives (Full-Time Only)Competitive vacation and paid time off plansComprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans with varying coverage for employees and their families, with a high-deductible health plan option available in all locations401(k) retirement plan (pre- and post-tax options) with matching contribution up to 3% after one year of employmentAdditional supplemental disability, life, critical illness, hospital indemnity, accident, legal aid, and ID theft protection plansFlexible Spending Account (FSA) or Health Savings Account (HSA)Two paid closure weeks each year (weeks of July 4 and December 25)Employment "At-Will" For W-2 employment, Stellar Virtual is an at-will employer.
