Now Hiring: Special Education Teacher – Elementary Caseload – North Chicago, IL
Blazer Jobs is currently interviewing experienced Special Education Teachers for a full-time, school-based contract position in North Chicago, Illinois. This role is for the 2025–2026 school year and will focus on serving an elementary caseload. The ideal candidate will have a passion for inclusive education and a strong background in supporting students with diverse learning needs.
Position Details:
• Location: North Chicago, IL
• Schedule: Full-Time, Contract
• Dates: August 18, 2025 – May 29, 2026
• Caseload: Elementary school students
• Renewal: May be offered based on performance
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) based on student needs
• Provide direct instruction and academic support in a small group or inclusion setting
• Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals and adjust instruction accordingly
• Collaborate with general education teachers, service providers, and families to support student learning
• Participate in IEP meetings and maintain compliance with state and federal regulations
• Create and maintain a structured, supportive, and inclusive learning environment
• Adapt instructional materials and strategies to accommodate diverse learners
• Provide positive behavior supports and classroom management tailored to student needs
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Special Education or a related field
• Active Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with a Special Education endorsement
• Experience working with elementary-aged students with disabilities strongly preferred
• Familiarity with IEP development, progress monitoring, and data collection
• Must meet all state and local requirements for school-based special education teaching
