Job Summary We're looking for a certified special education teacher to join our team as a Virtual Classroom Teacher. As a contract role, this position requires availability Monday-Friday from 8 am to 3 pm ET. As a Special Education Remote Instructor, you will be responsible for creating an inclusive, engaging, and adaptive learning environment that leverages technology to meet the educational goals of all students. You will facilitate instruction to students across various grade levels, develop and deliver interactive lesson plans, and modify and adapt instruction to accommodate the learning needs of students with SEND. Key Responsibilities: Develop and deliver interactive lesson plans aligned with students' academic needs as indicated in their Individualized Education Program (IEP) Use virtual learning platforms to teach students in a synchronous (live) or asynchronous (self-paced) manner Modify and adapt instruction to accommodate the learning needs of students with SEND Foster a positive online learning environment conducive to academic and personal growth Implement strategies for engaging students through virtual tools and resources Track student participation and ensure all students are actively involved in the learning process Design and administer assessments to monitor student progress Use data to refine teaching strategies and instructional materials Provide constructive feedback to students and parents on academic performance Maintain discipline and oversee the conduct of students within the virtual classroom Set clear expectations for online behavior and netiquette Utilize educational technology to enhance learning outcomes Troubleshoot basic technology issues related to the virtual learning environment Maintain regular communication with all stakeholders to discuss student progress and concerns Collaborate with other educators and specialists to support student learning Requirements and Qualifications Essential Qualifications: Valid special education teaching certification (New York State certification preferred) Bachelor's degree or above in Education; Master's degree preferred At least 1-3 years of teaching experience Ability to submit background check Maintain a professional workspace with computer and high-speed internet (headset recommended) Successfully complete initial onboarding training Proficiency in using virtual learning platforms and technology Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills Preferred Qualifications: Experience in creating engaging lesson plans tailored to individual learners Experience using virtual teaching platforms and tools to increase student engagement and enhance student outcomes Technically proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word) Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and teaching methodologies Skills and Competencies Key Skills: Knowledge of differentiated instruction Ability to engage students in a virtual environment Strong understanding of curriculum and content-area standards Capability to analyze student data and apply it to instructional planning Excellent time management skills to facilitate online learning effectively Work Environment and Benefits As a remote worker, you will have the flexibility to work from home or a designated virtual teaching space.
