Job title: Spanish-Speaking Freelance Writer / Written Content Translator Company: Influence & Co. Job description: At Influence & Co., we help our clients be seen as credible experts in their chosen fields by creating high-level pieces of short-form (e.g., infographics, newsletters, articles, and blog posts) and long-form (e.g., white papers, e-books, pillar posts) content. Our internal team comes up with article topics, chooses target publications (for off-site content), and then interviews clients to get unique insights for each piece. Then, one of two things happens: We either share the information from those interviews with freelance writers and ask them to build out the articles, or we send them more basic information, such as keywords, questions, and a short description of the content, and ask them to build out the piece based on that. When our editors send writing assignments to freelancers, those freelancers have the chance to reject the assignment within 24 hours. If they don’t, editors take that as a sign that the freelancer is willing to take on and complete the assignment by the proposed deadline. Typically, writers have two days to complete an assignment — more if it’s a long-form project. Ultimately, freelancers who work with Influence & Co. have opportunities to work on a variety of content for a variety of clients. They also have a layer of guidance and support from the editors who assign them projects and have the chance to refine their skills each time an editor reviews their work, sending them constructive and detailed feedback.
