The ideal candidate has a strong background in working with PPO (Preferred Provider Organization) insurance plans and excels in providing compassionate, efficient support to both patients and medical staff. As the first point of contact, you will be responsible for creating a welcoming and organized environment, ensuring a seamless patient experience from check-in to check-out.Key ResponsibilitiesGreet and check in patients in both English and Spanish, ensuring all required documentation is collected and accurateSchedule, confirm, and manage patient appointments using EHR/EMR systemsAnswer and direct incoming calls in a professional and courteous mannerVerify insurance eligibility and coverage, with a strong understanding of PPO insurance plansCollect co-pays, process payments, and explain basic billing questions to patientsMaintain accurate and confidential patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulationsCommunicate clearly with patients regarding appointment details, delays, or required paperworkCoordinate effectively with doctors, nurses, and administrative staff to support clinic workflowAssist with administrative tasks such as medical forms, referrals, and authorizationsManage front desk operations, including incoming mail, fax, and general correspondenceHandle patient concerns or complaints with empathy and escalate when necessaryRequirementsFluency in Spanish and English with excellent verbal and written communicationMinimum 3 years of experience as a medical receptionist or in a similar administrative healthcare roleStrong understanding of PPO insurance plans, coverage, and billing proceduresExcellent customer service skills with a patient-centered approachStrong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environmentKnowledge of HIPAA compliance and basic medical terminologyHigh school diploma or equivalent required; medical office certification is a plusBenefits Independent Contractor Perks: Permanent work from homeImmediate hiringSteady freelance job Please note that since this is a permanent work-from-home position and an “Independent Contractor” arrangement, the candidates must have their own computer and internet connection.
