Job Title: Solution Architect – Java / Google Cloud Platform Location: Remote Work Authorization: Employment Type: W2 Only Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Solution Architect with a strong Java development background and hands-on Google Cloud Platform expertise. In this role, you will lead end-to-end architectural design, guide engineering teams, and ensure alignment between technical solutions and business objectives. This position is based in Hartford, CT with flexibility for remote candidates who are s. Key Responsibilities: • Design and own end-to-end solution architecture for Java-based enterprise applications deployed on Google Cloud Platform • Collaborate with product, engineering, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable, secure, and maintainable designs • Provide technical leadership and hands-on guidance to development teams throughout delivery cycles • Define and enforce architecture standards, patterns, and best practices across cloud-native services • Conduct architecture reviews, identify risks, and recommend mitigation strategies • Lead cloud migration and modernization initiatives using Google Cloud Platform services (GKE, Cloud Run, BigQuery, Pub/Sub, etc.) • Support pre-sales or client-facing engagements as a technical SME when required • Mentor and guide senior engineers on architecture and design principles Required Qualifications: • 7+ years of software engineering experience with strong Java / J2EE background • 3+ years as Solution Architect / Enterprise Architect / Technical Lead • Hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (Google Cloud Platform) • Experience with microservices, event-driven, and API-first architecture • Strong DevOps knowledge (CI/CD, Terraform, Docker, Kubernetes) • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills • or required (No sponsorship available) Preferred Skills: • Spring Boot / Spring Cloud / Quarkus • BigQuery / Dataflow / Looker • Financial / Insurance / Healthcare domain experience • Multi-cloud / Hybrid cloud architecture exposure
