Solution Architect – AI Solutions Location: Toronto / Hybrid Employment Type: Full-time or Contractor About the Role We are seeking a Solution Architect with deep expertise in Large Language Model (LLM)–based solutions and Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations. In this role, you will design and deliver AI-driven architectures for investment institutions, leveraging MCP to orchestrate data, tools, and workflows across complex financial systems. This is a hands-on, client-facing role: you will build PoCs and demos, rapidly iterate on solutions based on client feedback, and act as the technical bridge between financial services clients and our dynamic global engineering teams. Key Responsibilities • Design and implement solution architectures leveraging MCP for LLM-based workflows in trading, portfolio analytics, risk management, and compliance. • Build PoCs, demos, and prototypes that showcase MCP-enabled AI solutions, integrating market data sources, APIs, and financial systems. • Quickly adjust solutions based on client input, iterating to meet functional and performance requirements. • Serve as the technical liaison with clients, gathering requirements and relaying them to product and engineering for roadmap prioritization. • Define integration patterns and best practices for MCP-based systems, ensuring interoperability with cloud services, data lakes, and legacy financial platforms. • Provide hands-on technical leadership during workshops, RFPs, and pre-sales engagements, including architecture diagrams, integration plans, and technical presentations. • Ensure AI solutions comply with financial regulations, data privacy, and responsible AI standards. • Document solution blueprints, MCP integration guides, and technical playbooks for client delivery and scaling. Required Qualifications • 7+ years in solution architecture, AI/ML engineering, or technical consulting, with direct client-facing experience. • Strong expertise in LLMs, generative AI systems, and MCP (Model Context Protocol). • Hands-on experience building PoCs and demos with LLM frameworks (LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI MCP ecosystem, etc.). • Strong understanding of financial services and investment workflows (e.g., trading desks, risk engines, regulatory compliance). • Solid experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP), APIs, and containerized deployments (Docker/Kubernetes). • Proficiency in Python, Java, and Node.js for rapid prototyping, backend integration, and MCP connector development. • Ability to engage directly with financial institutions, gather requirements, and translate them into technical architectures. • Strong communication skills for presenting technical solutions to both engineering teams and C-level executives. Preferred Qualifications • Familiarity with quantitative finance, market data providers, and portfolio optimization models. • Knowledge of responsible AI frameworks, model explainability, and governance for regulated industries. • Experience with secure API orchestration, identity management, and compliance workflows. • Contributions to the MCP ecosystem or open-source AI orchestration frameworks. • Advanced degree in Computer Science, AI, Financial Engineering, or related field.
